What is your specific area of STEM?
My specific area of STEM is Computer Science and Engineering. I have pursued my BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) and MCA (Masters of Computer Application).
2. When did you first become interested in tech and was there a moment where you knew you were going to be a computer programmer?
After completing my SSC, I got a chance to browse a computer. Surprisingly it attracts me coz I played snake game there. Exactly that moment made me interested to become a tech. I wanted to do something in that screen which other people can enjoy. And I decided to do something different in my life other than very common carrier like Doctor or Engineer or a Teacher which was a regular practice for a small-town girl. My family supported me in my every decision which is why I am here today.
How would you explain your STEM field to young girls?
Woman has the same talent as man. This field is challenging but interesting. Apply yourself and work harder. If you want to change the world, you should contribute yourself in this field. This world needs a lot of merit like you. Be smart and start inventing yourself.
What traits might a child possess that may indicate an interest or aptitude for your STEM field?
If you are very good at math or logic and love technology then this tech field is for you. Be confident and start from today.
Why did you choose your STEM field? Were you inspired by someone?
I liked physics and math which made to choose my STEM quickly. I heard about Silicon Valley in USA and India which is the tech hub. I wanted to be part of this tech-world and started doing my study in Computer Science because “Education is the pillar”.
What is the biggest challenge you face as a woman in STEM?
As a woman, by default this society will think about you as a human without merit. Nobody will NEVER EVER accept you as a Programmer or Developer in first chance who may have a smart brain. It’s the biggest challenge. You need to prove yourself in every step by your work. For that you need a strong mentality.
Do you still see sexism and discrimination in the workplace?
It’s now open secret and everywhere in our corporate. You may hear about Google or Facebook Rumer a lot. It was, it is and it will be there. Being a tech-woman in this industry, I try to give more chance to a woman over a man in my organization. I want to share my knowledge to other woman and inspire them to step ahead.

What inspirational message would you give young girls to inspire them to pursue STEM?
My core value is “ Family is important “ and I love my family so much. That’s the reason I started my company W3engineers from my native place which is now globally renewed with 100+ members. So now matter from which place you belong to, if you love the technology and want to do something for your network, start from today. Set your goal and work harder and harder. Believe me, you will certainly reach to your destination soon!
