‘Hire & Train’, an employment-oriented training program, was formally inaugurated in Dhaka on Tuesday for individuals trying to pursue careers in the digital sector in Bangladesh. Women in Digital, in collaboration with IIT University of Dhaka, Enhancing Digital Government & Economy (EDGE) Project, and BCC jointly organized the inauguration program at the auditorium of ESDO in the capital’s Adabor.
The program started at 3 pm with esteemed guests delivering motivational speeches to inspire and encourage the students.
Achia Nila , the founder and CEO of Women in Digital, began the main session by providing a brief overview of the program. She highlighted the importance of the “Hire & Train” initiative in empowering individuals to pursue careers in the digital sector in Bangladesh.
Following Achia Nila’s introduction, Mainul Hossain, a professor at the Institute of Information Technology of DU, shed light on the inception and development of the EDGE project. He shared insights on the project’s origins and outlined the comprehensive plan to implement this initiative effectively.

Md. Saiful Alam Khan, Project Director (Acting) of EDGE Project, delivered an inspiring speech to motivate the students.He emphasized the immense opportunities available in the digital industry and encouraged them to fully embrace the training program to enhance their skills and employability.
During this three-month training, Md. Robiul Islam, Consultant (Skill Development), EDGE Project, explained how the students can prepare themselves and improve their skills.

In the final segment of the event, Achia Nila provided a detailed overview of the courses available under the “Hire & Train” program. She specifically highlighted the importance of courses such as Blockchain, Machine Learning, and VFX (Visual Effects) and explained how students could progressively excel in these areas.
The inauguration program of the “Hire & Train” marks a significant milestone in empowering students with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital era.
The government has recently launched the `Hire and Train Program’ to impart training and employment of 20,000 IT graduates by 2026.
World Bank financed EDGE project making a partnership with the Center for Project Management and Information Systems (PMIS) and the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) of Dhaka University and RISE of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) has been organizing to provide training to 20,000 IT graduates by 2026 on advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), robotics, blockchain through the country’s IT companies.
