UNDP Women's Digital Innovation Hackathon was open to Bangladeshi female students, young professionals, and entrepreneurs who are keen to take part in an innovation marathon, learn new work-life skills, and co-create digital solutions to solve real-life challenges, all with the support of amazing local and international mentors. This was a great opportunity to network, make new connections, and develop skills by forming multi-discipline teams and creating sustainable solutions together. No coding skills were required to participate. UNDP partners with people at all levels of society to help build nations though sustainable, innovative, and community-based development projects. Since 1972, UNDP and its partners have helped Bangladesh make critical advances in the areas of governance, poverty reduction, climate change, and disaster resilience. Communities are made stronger by our partnerships and assistance.
WID has always been very thriving to engage digital transformation activities which have great potential for making progress towards the Workable Development Goals for women. WID effort in every possible way to enhance having a dreaming goal correspondingly the future generation of female tech leaders, to co-create the future of Bangladesh. As an Organizer partner Women In Digital been accomplished the program successfully and dispensed the prize money on behalf of UNDP towards winners according to their achievements.
The Hackathon had been completely virtual over a 48-hour period: on 1-3 July 2021. Hackathon was open for female students, young professionals, and entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-35 in Bangladesh. Every qualified participant was guided by local and international mentors during the entire process, mentors had supported every participant immensely to solve problems regarding their projects, responded to each and every quire.
THE WINNERS GOT EXCITING PRIZES,
- $3,000 cash prize.
- Members of the top team (Innovation Champion) were received grants for EdX's Professional Certificate program.
- 100 participants were received grants for completion certificates of Building AI online courses by the University of Helsinki and Reaktor
Team Shurjyo has been achieved a Grand prize of USD 1500, The Runner up team Eunoia acquired USD 1000, and then two teams had shared the 2nd Runner up prize of USD 500 equally and they are Team AI-based Dengue Control & Team Eco360.
